Gareth Williams

I have only lived in Bollington for 35 years: not quite a 'local' but certainly settled in this warm community. My children grew up through St John's and Tytherington. For several years I was a school governor here and helped with a number of charity organisations.

My job then took me 'on the road' as a freelance IT specialist developing and testing government and banking systems, pleased to return to enjoy the walking (and pubs!) round here at weekends.

When I retired I started doing more charity work, putting my IT and photography skills to work helping to raise significant funds for Oxfam - even during Covid times. I felt I could do more to give a bit back to the community and standing as a councillor feels like a natural step.

I am a life-long Liberal and believe strongly in cooperative ways of working to get the best results from an organisation such as the council.

If elected, I would bring those values (and hard work) to the existing team to help preserve and develop our town and its lovely environment.
